The knowledgeable seller just sent me this reply:

"The phonograph† is not of any commercial value."
Thomas Alva Edison - Comment to his assistant, Samuel Insull.

"No one needs a Victrola XX, a Perfected Graphophone Type G, or whatever you call those noisy things."

Yep, that's why I just don't bother correcting sellers like that. They've always Googled it, and Google is always right!

Yes I fear the seller thinks he’s being informed that the soundbox is wrong because of the ‘J’, which isn’t wrong. He misses the point about the ‘Britian’ spelling.

It still fetched £585. Some people thought it was real.

I doubt that. A "real" one should have made £1000 plus on an average day with no wind in the sails.

Here is the latest reply from the seller, correcting me, even though he admits he had no idea what machine this went to...

Chad, you are also wrong about your statement that "it was me who claimed the "J" indicated it was a repro". I DID NOT claim that, re-read the previous posts. My issue was and is the misspelling...

I looked and I do have an 1980's reproduction Clarke-Johnson reproducer.
I have a note that it was made in Switzerland but could be wrong and should be UK.
Definitely Britain is correctly spelled.
Now that I have found it I may sell it.
The link has expired so what was the Indian one going for?

£15. I'll take it, thank you!
