55 cents in 1936 taking into account inflation is $12.50 today. This ad depicts how dire the situation in the depths of the great Depression and how badly the record business had deteriorated. Most had no money to buy food let alone records.
This should be instructive as we head into the next great depression.

The Blue Bird band was just a pseudonym for the good old Victor Military Band. A 1926 scroll label. I have this record. For some not valuable. But to me priceless
