These are just awful. I can't say I have ever seen a worse job of recovering. Just awful. :(

I can certainly see "faults" in the joins here and there but the leather is presumably quite a lot thicker than the tissue paper thick material HMV originally used. Unless the restorer chose to use an all out different approach and reproduce a stitched leather case, I doubt he could have done a much better job to be fair.

Someone obviously read my last comment ( :lol: ) and has now bought the green 101 for 1850 Euros.

Boy, the market for gramophones is super weird and unbalanced at the moment. Are we witnessing a new younger generation entering the market without the reference books and collective knowledge gained by the older generations over the past 50 years?
