These are just awful. I can't say I have ever seen a worse job of recovering. Just awful.

I can certainly see "faults" in the joins here and there but the leather is presumably quite a lot thicker than the tissue paper thick material HMV originally used. Unless the restorer chose to use an all out different approach and reproduce a stitched leather case, I doubt he could have done a much better job to be fair.chunnybh wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2024 1:03 am These are just awful. Boy, the market for gramophones is super weird and unbalanced at the moment. Are we witnessing a new younger generation entering the market without the reference books and collective knowledge gained by the older generations over the past 50 years?
