Offered here is a nice clean early Type B Eagle Graphophone. This one started life as a caseless model with the serial number 88168 stamped into the belt cover. Then either the dealer added a case or the consumer added it. Note the caseless models had the serial number on the belt cover while the cased models had a data plate located on the wood base with the serial number stamped. Its condition is great and the original reproducer was rebuilt so it sounds good. The cover is in good condition but appears to have gotten a little too close to a flame leaving a few marks that can be seen in the pictures. Also there is a patched veneer piece on the top right as can be seen. The decal on the cover is original and very sharp and crisp. The pictures should tell the rest of the story but if you have any questions please PM me. The horn is an accurate 10” conical style reproduction. Payment with check or money order is preferred. Shipping will be actual charge and no fees for packing supplies. I use Pirate Ship for the best rates. Thanks for looking.

Those "converted" Eagles from the $10.00 caseless versions to a cased version using Columbia's $2.00 "Hand Cabinet" are very hard to find! The critical factor is the absence of the 4 holes where brads would have held a data plate on conventional $12.00 models. This one looks very nice too. If I didn't already have a couple, I'd be all over this. Eagle #8168 out of approximately 150,000!

I have one of those too or I would be buying this one. Mine just has a homemade oak base. The strange thing is the tin horn doesn't have the black paint but it does have the gold stripe. I guess they really wanted to save costs.
