Cylinder Manufacruring mold?

Post by Pinklambert »

I ran across this among the many cylinders I have and was curious on what it actually was. I heard it was a manufacturing mold. It is a white substance kind of heavy with an enclosed end. See the picture for more details. Any help would be appreciated!

This looks like a porous pot for an electric cell as it is not stuffed with depolarizer and a carbon rod it is more probable that it is for a wet Daniel cell.

Fragile enough to store in a handy tube and used by armature and professional electricians in the early 1900s.
