Fern-O-Grand motor/reproducer/needle cup info
I picked up this Fern-O-Grand last week. I’ve never owned one and I have a few questions/observations. What brand of motor is this? The reproducer appears to have a composition diaphragm with a violin bridge design to the connection between the needle bar and the diaphragm. Also, the rear body of the reproducer appears to be phenolic or some sort of composition material. Has anyone seen this before? I haven’t brought the carcase into the house yet to check, but the needle cups have hinged arms that hold metal rods that dip into the needle cups — are the rods magnets?

Wow, an odd and interesting machine. Please keep us posted.
I suspect those small rods are magnetic, and what a good idea they are.
