A new video in the Children's series featuring the cylinder - Bedtime at the Zoo. A great tune by Ada Jones. I bet you even learn something about one of the featured animals!!!

Shawn,
Is this an actual recording of the Gem playing that cylinder, or is the cylinder being played with an electric pick-up, with the Gem as a backdrop? If it's the former, I'm very impressed not only by the quality of the reproducer, but also your microphone!

Thanks all!!
Jerry, I digitally record all my cylinders with a Fireside. I do a little, very little, clean up on the sound file and then use it in the video.
So no, its not them Gem playing that cylinder. It is a Fireside, with an ACT recorder capturing the digital sound track.

Oh that is interesting - I have a copy of a sequel to this song on a two-sided Columbia record, Sunrise at the Zoo, sung by Ada Jones also, but the performers are given as The White Star Entertainers.
