Large Orthophonic 10-51/9-40 Driver Project

Post by MarkELynch »

For the past 18 months we have been developing replacement castings for the always swollen Potmetal casting for the Victor Moving Coil Orthophonic Electrola driver.
These drivers were supplied by the RCA for use on the Victor 10-51 and later for the Victor 8-60 and Victor 9-40.

We have successful working first articles now, they were produced in both aluminum and high definition resin. Both perform well, the aluminum castings are more expensive but the final pricing is still being worked out.

At this point I’d like to gauge the interest to see if it is worth producing more than for my own needs.

Please indicate your interest, material type and quantity with a non-binding commitment. We will supply new gaskets for use with your good diaphragm.

The aluminum castings can be powder coated with the matching blue-grey color if desired, this is pictured.

Thanks,
Mark & Bronson

Nice work! Sign me up for one, material unimportant as long as they perform equally well.
