WTB - Crapophone horn - Australia

Post by langleycello »

Greetings,

Just wondering if anyone has a cheap brass Crapophone horn which I could convert into a pseudo ‘morning glory’ horn for a phonograph?

Looking to create a very basic, albeit ‘agricultural’ setup to enable demos for school children..

Preferably in Australia due to bulky transport / costs etc..

Cheers,

Stephen

I appreciate your response but will have to look locally as shipping costs are an issue - thanks again :-) Stephen

Somebody gave me one years ago. You are welcome to it but cost to ship is expensive

I once looked at a Crapo phone web site and it sold a variety of horns and machines with cheap shipping and discounts for multi purchases. Google it and see what you can find. It was at least 6 years ago so things may have changed but you keep seeing the machines and horns keep appearing

Many thanks for your kind replies - I managed to find one locally which hopefully will serve my needs..

it certainly lives up to expectations in orig form… I wonder if anyone has managed to match up a good soundbox and get a half decent playback..? The horn seems to be quite robust on this machine and I hope to adapt it to use with a utility Edison Standard B for demonstrations for school kids. Next step is the crane..

Cheers,

Stephen
