Removing a 2/4 Minute Conversion Kit
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could advise on how to uninstall a 2/4 minute conversion kit from an Edison Standard Phonograph, specifically a model B. I need to temporarily remove it for cleaning purposes but am having trouble finding instructions for how to do this, or the installation instructions to work backwards from.

Re: Removing a 2/4 Minute Conversion Kit
First thing I always do if I'm about to embark on a task that involves removing a phonograph assembly that I may not be familiar with is to take plenty of pictures BEFORE and also WHILE I'm disassembling. I did the same thing when I was younger when working on car engines. You will thank yourself for doing this as the pictures will guide you later if/when a reassembly is desired.
All of this said, the Edison Standard 2/4 minute gearing assembly is pretty simple and with the correct screwdriver(s) you should be able to figure it out once you remove the gear cover to expose the works. Good luck! And take pictures!

Re: Removing a 2/4 Minute Conversion Kit
Thanks so much for your reply - the plan is to reassemble everything after cleaning so I’m definitely taking plenty of photos and all the parts and screws/bearings are going into labelled bags!
The 2/4 conversion kit is actually missing its cover but there’s sufficient dirt/oil build up on it that it’s difficult to see what’s what, or to tell if parts are stiff because of old oil or because they’re meant to be left alone. Am I right in thinking it’s just the screw holding the bearing and the bearing itself attaching the kit to the phonograph, or is there any other part holding it in place?
