Ok first off. I can’t figure out how to post a photo from an eBay auction/
Second no this is not an Edison Standard Phonograph but a rather expensive music box, that plays flat piano player style rolls.

I saw that too. I sent the seller a message stating that it was not real. I got a polite response from them, asking for more background. I also got a security warning from eBay, saying that this seller's account had some fraudulent activity associated with it recently. A hacked account, apparently. eBay warned to have no further communication with them.
The item description...
Edison Standard Phonograph, a type of early sound-reproducing device. Key features:
It was invented by Thomas Edison and improved over 50 years.
This model likely dates back to the early 1900s.
It uses wax cylinders to record and play sound.
The phonograph here appears to be an original, possibly from 1905.
It is hand-cranked.
The horn amplifies the sound.

Like Jerry, I sent a message to the seller and got the same warning email from eBay. The account has been compromised and the listing is fraudulent. It is advised not to have any contact with that seller.

There are several ways to do it, depending on your browser. I use Firefox so I simply click on the image to maximize it in its own screen, then right-click on the image and select "save image" from the selection box: (Note: the right-click menu may be disabled by some websites.)Edisonfan wrote: Fri Mar 14, 2025 8:01 pm [ebay]https://www.ebay.com/itm/197109032398[/ebay]

If you have a Windows PC, you can also call up the built-in "Snipping Tool" to select the onscreen image and save it, or use the Print Screen button on your keyboard to do a screen image capture, paste the results in Windows Paint, and crop and save the image.
