Hello all,
For my Music History and Appreciation class this semester, I have decided to do my term paper on Jack Pettis, a C-melody saxophonist from the 1920s. In it I have used several recordings of his for reference, as it would appear that nearly all sides he is recorded on that are listed in the Rust book are digitized to some extent and readily available to listen to.
Except one. Pettis's lone record from 1937 on the Variety label, recorded many years after he was one of the premier saxophonists during the high point of the Jazz Age, is nowhere to be found listenable that I am aware of. It is my belief that having such a record to accompany as a reference for my paper could be very useful and also potentially interesting to some.
I am open to buying a copy but I would prefer trading some records from my collection. Please let me know if you have a copy you would be willing to part with.
Thank you,
Ben
EDIT: I found a copy. Thanks for looking!
