Possible eBay Scam
I'm selling a console radio on eBay, and a buyer from Seattle purchased it but then immediately requested to cancel the order. However, they also messaged me with a shipping address and asked for it to be freight shipped. Something about the situation felt off, so I decided to refund them. My concern was that they might receive the item and then file a claim with eBay, stating that they had already canceled the order. I guess I just wanted to see if anybody else has any experience with this and kind of warn others.

Re: Possible eBay Scam
If they request to cancel the order, cancel it. End of. Simply ignore any follow up messages requesting this, that or the other shipping method. There will be no contract between you and the buyer at that point so no feedback can be given or demands made. If you feel compelled to respond to the buyer's request for shipping, simply say the order has been cancelled as per their request. I don't think it's a scam; I think you have just run into a stupid buyer, personally.travisgreyfox wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 6:44 pm I'm selling a console radio on eBay, and a buyer from Seattle purchased it but then immediately requested to cancel the order.
