I followed the auction as a viewer Steve, and as you say, the end price was securing that the gramophone ended in the hands of someone who can appreciate it.
Regarding the question is someone of our German members can confirm if the cabinet is walnut, I admit I would be very suprised if someone else has this exact tyype of horn gramophone in their possession, or knew about its existence before this auction. It will be very interesting to see if someone respond to this. I maybe should't have said that though, since you maybe now will regret not buying it :mrgreen:
I will take some photos of my newly acquired German double spring Monarch and upload very soon, so we also can have a look at that one, even if it is not a hybrid, but a pure DGAG machine.
