Edison record boxes
Wondering the value of them?---condition is "falling apart", I believe they can be glued back together and displayed. Sorry I don't have a cell phone or camera to take photos and when i was able to get pictures of something I wanted to post----just could not figure out HOW. Any approximate guess is appreciated.

HI Herb--- Hope you're doing well.
Are you referring to cylinder record boxes for individual records or something different. My opinion on a common cylinder box is about $2.00 in usable condition.

Hey Brad, They are disc record boxes. I put the question on the forum and then went ----found them and the display thought, well maybe they might need some blue shoe polish to look good.

Re: Edison record boxes
So, like the ones in this photo (shown with one Victor box)? They originally were sold in sets of six as a package with the A-150 diamond disc phonograph, and these days they're invariably missing.
They are hard to find and go for a fair bit of change if in decent shape, but no telling about yours without some photos to assess what's there.

I got them out and see they are in real need of restoration. They are beat-up, some fair? shape others rough, there are seven of them ----with one if wanted could be used to restore on the others and about 33 record dividers. Attempting to ask a favor to get pictures posted, waiting to hear back on that.

Re: Edison record boxes
I don't know how many record dividers would have come with a set originally. Just as a word to the wise, I'd advise anyone with such boxes not to put records in them and instead to treat them as "display only" items. My set (assembled piecemeal over a lengthy period, finished with a final volume after the photo I posted), albeit hardly pristine, is in better shape than these, and yet I consider it much too fragile to serve as practical disc storage. Having a presentable set of the albums on its shelf--even if, like mine, they have the flaws of age--does dress up an A-150, though.

Re: Edison record boxes
I would consider making boxes that would fit inside of the original boxes, then carefully apply/glue the remains of the original boxes to the new, "inner" boxes. This would create a strong substrate that will secure the final product. Obviously, this would produce a set of "display only" boxes. However, as suggested above, these boxes should be retired to display only anyway.
