if you get one sent to you the cast iron sides are quite fragile when dropped. I was sent one just like this in a biggish box but it was dropped on is side and both ends were smashed in to many pieces.
Undoing a few screws and packing the sides separately would prevent that.

Thanks for the helpful comments. I had also thought about that if the seller would be willing to do it. Some sellers don't like to change or remove anything on their items even if it's just removing 4 screws to provide more secure packaging.

I think mine would have survived if it was double boxed.
I really like this design with the Edison E in the casting elegant and utilitarian.
