Oiling Edison Phonograph
What oil do you guys use for your slide rods? I've used sewing machine oil & gun oil, but both of these eventually drip down onto the surface of the machine.

I usually put a drop of oil on my finger, then rub it across the rod.

Thank you for your responses, I'll try this out when I'm able to.

There is a product called "Abu Garcia's Reel Lube", designed for use with saltwater fishing reels. I've used it for years on gun actions, and it works amazingly well. Very little is needed. I have yet to try it on a slide rod, but I suspect it will work very well.
