G&T #3

Post by Phono-Phan »

I am looking for an original leather elbow clamp for a G&T phonograph. Please contact me if you have one available. I have a reproduction on my G&T #3 now and want to upgrade. Thanks, Ken Brekke

I'm curious to know whether all of these machines had an elbow clamp originally. As I mentioned in a previous post my Style 3 doesn't have one and I can't see signs on the leather that it ever had - no marks or indentations. I suppose it's possible that it had one when it was new and the owner never used it!

Yes, they did.

Yes, they did.
Thanks for the clarification. I'm guessing that it'll be very difficult to get hold of one now.

One other bit of advice needed regarding these elbows: the leather seems very dry on mine and I was wondering if some sort of leather treatment should be used to 'feed' it and make it more supple.

Do a search in the forum, for leather, and you'll find it, as there have been many discussions about this in the past.
