The round Songster tin is listed as an original design, along with 30+ variations, mostly rectangular and a plastic one. The round one may have been replicated, but is still attractive and looks exactly like the original.

The copies can be spotted as they have a rather fake looking crackle finish. Well I think it looks rather fake. But still an attractive tin I do agree.

I bought this Victor of Japan Needle Tin. Extra Loud! My dad was able to get rid of the mold and rust.

ColoradoPhonograf, could I see some up close photos of those Japanese tins? They look like the single one I posted!

I saw a similar tin with a cat on it online, too.

Does anyone know why Japanese and other Asian tins typically have speckled rust spots on them?
