A great loss, he was a knowledgeable collector and a nice person. His book remains a unique piece, the only gramophone how-to fix, restore and maintain published in modern times.

If there were a "Phonograph and Gramophone Hall of Fame", he would be a first year inductee. His book, regardless of edition, is a must read for anyone even remotely interested in keeping these aging machines alive. RIP.

I got the chance to meet him at the APS show in Schaumburg, IL. in 2024. I had heard that he might be coming so I brought my copy of his book to sign. I got to speak to him for several minutes. He didn't know me from Adam, but he couldn't have been warmer and more personable. I didn't know him like many of you did, but I feel privileged to have gotten to meet him in person.

He was an inspiration to us all. Before TCTM came out, we were so many of us working in darkness: he brought light to the hobby. May he be blessed. :rose:

This So Sad! I credit Eric’s book with my being in this hobby. I got the book after buying a wrecked Edison home at a farm auction. After reading the book twice I restored the machine and became completely enamored with these devices. Without the knowledge he shared. I would never have achieved this and likely never began collecting, and never began creating the decals. It is amazing how many lives one person touches…and you often don’t think about it until a time like this. Thank You Eric! Rest In peace.
