Can anyone please translate these labels?

Post by epigramophone »

Here are the three non-bilingual labelled records which I mentioned in my previous post.
One record still has it's paper insert. Translations would be greatly appreciated.

339 A is the Tokyo Boogie Woogie but in Japan it's referred to in Japanese as the soundtrack to the film "Spring Feast".
Sung by Kamei Shizuko, (Shizuko Kasagi), because of the script.
Words are by Masaru Suzuki (Suzuki Masaru).

339 B is My Dear Little Box sung by Tomiko Hattori
Words are by Ko Fujiura (Fujiura Takeshi)
Backing for both is the "Columbia Orchestra" and the legendary Ryoichi Hattori wrote the song & translated the English components.

TF 121 A is Hill of Pure Heart (Hill of Pure Feeling)
TF 121 B is China Night (Night in China)
Both sung by Hamako Watanabe who is credited as Kato Hamako on both sides.
Backing band is the Columbia Orchestra, again.
The following composers, lyricists, and writers, etc are credited:
Yoshio Niki (as Takio Niki)
Tadashi Manjome
Kenji Matsuo
Yaso Saijo
Nobuyuki Takeoka (China Night)

339 & TF 121 are both postwar records, and listed as "Light Music" and "Popular Songs"

The black record (29034) is pre-war. Notice the "Nipponophone Limited" instead of "Nippon-Columbia".

A
Utakouran - (The Song's Voyage)
It is sung by Kodama Heikichi
Composed by Seki Yamaguchi, lyrics by Kenji Tomita
The band is Matsui Tadazo's string band

B
Kao Tatsu Ka Otsu Iku - (The Toad and The Toadstool) - a drama
Sung by Dai Chizu (credited as Dai Chisu)
Band is the same as side A
Composed by Seki Yamaguchi, lyrics by Kenji Tomita, arrangement by Miyao Shizuo (credited as Shizuo Miyao)

The slip is the lyrics to Hill of Pure Heart.

Hope this helps!!

Thank you for your most helpful and detailed reply. I can now list the records in English.
Kind regards,
