VV-XVI 2 tone

Post by bdsummers »

How common are the L-shaped door machines have what looks like 2 different finishes, mahogany and then lighter color on the 4 doors? (2 L-shaped and 2 smaller doors)
I dont see a ton a pictures of these and concerned it may have been restored this way?

Thank you,
Brad

Brad,

The "L-Door" models you refer to would not have dissimilar colors or grains on the door panels unless somebody did a poor refinishing job or the veneer was missing from the doors.

Interesting, so gonna try to attach a picture.
So this could just be the veneer finish came off the doors?

The veneer finish isn't missing, exactly. The veneer itself is totally missing. It probably came loose due to high humidity or a flood, so somebody just removed it all and varnished what was left.
