"Cinch" Record
I found this 10-inch disc last weekend at a local yard sale; it was mixed in with four or five other 78s (all black Victors and Bluebirds) and a great many uninteresting LPs. I have never seen or heard of this label before, and it's not listed in Sutton & Nauck, leading me to suspect it may be foreign, but that's just a theory. Do those stamps in the label offer any clues? What are those doing there? And when, exactly, might this record have been made? Any and all information welcome. Thanks!

The “Mecolico” stamp indicates that dues were paid to an organization that looked after royalties and other publishing rights. I’m not sure about the other one, but guessing it had to do with the records being produced under specific standards. They are almost certainly British pressings. I found this info online. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mechanica ... on_Society

Re: "Cinch" Record
It has been suggested that the Cinch label was anonymous because The Gramophone Company did not want their name to appear on such a low priced product. They were not alone. Columbia's lowest priced label, the Phoenix, made no mention of their name either.
