AT LEAST $1,000 PAID FOR EDISON B375 GRILL

Post by EdisonA450_Wish1 »

I am looking for a grill for Edison Disc Phonograph model Louis XV, A/B 375. This model is made of mahogany. Any condition will be seriously considered, even one that may be in pieces. I know these are almost impossible to find but wanted to try here first before I decide to have a replacement made. Thank you to anyone who may be of help to me in this search. $1,000 or more paid. Please PM me or email at [email protected].

Here is a picture of a B-375 from my collection. These machines were offered in red or brown mahogany.

This is a tough cookie to make. Besides the wood carving, the complex curvatures involved make it very difficult to duplicate. I had one made about 15 years ago and paid $2,000 at that time. The craftsman had quoted me a price in advance, and when it was completed he said “never again”.
I believe Paul Baker knows somebody who can do this as well.

Are you looking for just the grill, or the frame as well ?
I have a damaged grill only (partially broken out, with those pieces missing) that I would consider selling.
Please contact me directly if interested.

That's the frustrating thing about one-off projects. Invariably another machine eventually comes along with a similar need, but by the time it happens, the tooling or know-how for the job is gone, or whoever had the job done is hesitant to share more information.
