Wanted: Edison Amberola B5 Front Metal Grille - Thanks

Post by FellowCollector »

If anyone has an Edison Amberola B5 front metal grille please contact me (PM or email). Please see picture below. I realize the picture is not a good one but it's all I could find online of one. These stamped metal grilles were factory equipped on the left over (and very scarce) post-December-1914 Edison factory fire Amberola V cabinets that were fitted with the earliest Amberola 50/75 works. If I can't find an original grille then I might consider having one made if anyone here is handy with making metal grilles or knows of a reasonable and reliable source to make one of these grilles. I could supply the dimensions. And if that fails I would be very happy to receive a tracing of one of these metal Amberola B5 front grilles and try to make one myself.

Thanks.
Doug

Does the BVI have the same grill? It looks like the grill on my BVI but hard to see the whole grill on your picture. If it is the same, I can send you a tracing.

Thank you so very much for your kind response, phonogal. I completely understand and agree that the picture I found online (from another Amberola B5) and that was included for reference above is pretty bad. Unfortunately, I don't yet have an Amberola BVI in the collection so I'm not sure if the front metal grilles are the same. My thought is that they're probably different dimensions.

My Amberola B5 grille opening is: 12 ⅛" width -by- 7 ⅞" height

Kind Regards,
Doug
