This is my first post in this forum and I not familiar with all editorial functions, so please excuse if appearance is not in way you are used to.

I am collecting since about 40 years and my main focus is on European brands. Here I would like to share something rare which might be off interest for collectors of early and unusual machines. It is a pre 1900 Excelsior phonograph produced by: "Phil. Richard", Fabrik für Erzeugnisse der Feinmechanik.

As you can see there are some similarities to an Edison Standard of the same time. To avoid trouble with lawyers there is no conical mandrel which was common after 1900 also on many European brands. Instead of that there is a spring loaded spokes mandrel.

Size of the machine length about 28 cm x depth about 18 cm x height about 29 cm

The horn is a 10" aluminum conical horn and was not part of the photo session.
