I have a chance to pick up a Spencerian Westphono Inc portable, but it has no crank, so it's a crapshoot that it's operational.
Anyone have an idea of the type of crank it would use? I know there are so many variables. Thank you

You get a reasonably good look at the crank in this video.Carl wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 7:02 pm I have a chance to pick up a Spencerian Westphono Inc portable, but it has no crank, so it's a crapshoot that it's operational.

It appears to be a sleeve crank.

Haha, no worries. Thank you for the video. I saw that video prior to posting my question. I can't tell if it's slotted, or if it has female threads.Lah Ca wrote: Tue Sep 02, 2025 8:47 pm

Well, I'll never know. Smack in the middle of back and forth messaging between me and the seller, he says the player is sold, and marks his ad as such.
