Seeing the recent post seeking confirmation of the correct crank for an Orthophonic 8-35, I am now wondering about the crank on my Orthophonic 8-9, s/n 700. The length is definitely correct. It's the finish I question. It is gold. Either gold plated or gold "washed". It's hard to tell. (I know plating was discontinued at this time, in favor of gold wash/paint) I bought it from a non-collector who had it in his family for many years, so it seems unlikely to have been "monkeyed with", however, in 97 years lots can happen.
What say you?
MarkELynch, what does your documentation state?
