Information on Pathé Actuelle models H & J
I am seeking information on Pathé' Actuelle phonographs, specifically models H & J, what they sold new for and years of production. I’m doing research and not finding much information anywhere.

You have Ron Dethlefson’s book, I hope. It’s mostly a copy-paste of ads and dealer materials, but there may be some interesting info there.
The French Pathé stuff is extremely confusing, but the American flavor might be even worse. They made a few conventional disc phonos as well as the Actuelle here, as well as a few radios and an extremely collectible line of radio cone speakers.

Cheryl,
For your library, order the American Pathé history book here.

He’ll likely learn that he can’t order the book from Ron as shown, because Ron’s been dead for several years. I don’t know if anyone has taken over selling any remaining copies, but my prior post on this thread did point to the book already.
Several of us have it, and can share information from it here if necessary.

FOUND : information on Pathé Actuelle models H & J
We didn’t know of Ron’s book so will search for it. He was a friend and neighbor of ours in California and we had his cylinder book but didn’t know he wrote one on Pathé! Thanks so much.
We found the book in our own library! Thank you so much for your help.

I tried to gather some information on the Pathé H models a few years back. I have one in Walnut and have not found another like it.

I can tell you that Pathé cabinets for G, H & J models (and possibly others) were built by the Atherton Company of Louisville, Kentucky. The factory was on Preston Street, iirc. The Atherton were a prominent Louisville family and there is a high school there named after them.
