Emergency Announcement

Post by phonogfp »

Apparently, it's now impossible to post new topics in several categories, including "Machines." Several TMF members who have not stayed logged on have been shut out of the TMF. A number of TMF members have contacted the Antique Phonograph Society asking if anything can be done, but unfortunately the APS has no control over the TMF. However, the APS continues to maintain the APS Forum:

https://forum.antiquephono.org/

TMF members who request APS FORUM accounts should send an email to [email protected] indicating their request is pending so that it can be expedited.

Private Messaging (at least today) here on TMF seems to be broken as well. If you try to send a Private Message you are returned to the main page of the TMF. Weird.

TMF appears to be back in business. I had a great conversation with David, who was already in the process of getting things running again. He explained the issue, which I did not understand due to being illiterate in such matters. :? :|

Thanks David (aka MordEth). We really do rely on the TMF for the hobby and when it's working it's a fantastic resource. The APS forum is very functional, it just doesn't have the traffic of the TMF. Also the APS has dues that help fund work on the publications and sites whereas David only asks for donations. If frequent users all donated $20 a year to David, I'm sure he would be grateful.

Good to hear that action has been taken. I have just successfully replied to a PM and posted on the eBay section.

Just to clarify, no one needs to be an APS member to use the APS Forum. It's entirely free to the hobby.

Thanks for clarifying this George. I'm not sure if folk realize this. It would be great to see more traffic on all on our forums.
