Around 2009, I was loaned a Diamond Disc from a collector intitled "Miami" by the Florida Four. The collector knew that I was interested in using software to "clean up" the noise on these old records. My restoration work on this and other songs led me to a second career in retirement where I learned how to restore these wonderful old songs.
As an engineer, I'm always working to improve my work, and as such I have attached my latest work on this fun song from 1925. Thanks to the collector for helping me get started!

That's absolutely wonderful. Do you plan on doing your collection?Marc Hildebrant wrote: Fri Nov 14, 2025 10:37 am Around 2009, I was loaned a Diamond Disc from a collector intitled "Miami" by the Florida Four. Re: My First Restoration, Miami
shopdoc,
I have gone through my collection (minus 4-minute Blue Cylinders) numerous times; with constant improvements to the sound quality. The latest version should be done this week.
At one time, I had a podcast where I had about 160 songs for people and my comments to hear. After my sponsor left, I was not able to keep paying the expenses and I stopped the podcasts.
I may create CDs of the music or something else in the future for people to enjoy this music. Suggestions?

I might suggest starting with Christmas songs, with a title like The First Christmas Records. Even though most people stream these days, everybody I know has favorite Christmas CDs.Marc Hildebrant wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 2:55 pm shopdoc,
