Sorry, I don't understand why when I post pictures they are sideways, but when you click on them they are correct. Anyway.....
Just bought this fairly early Mahogany Standard case. Please ignore the later mechanism. I'm just referring to the case and will be dropping the correct mechanism back in once I have done a little work on it. This case bears a light previous refinish and came without decal. I slapped on a script for display purposes. But, I'd really like to apply the proper decal and put back in the original mech. This case is differentiated from the later case as it has a simpler and smaller base.
I don't mind the script but cannot find a single example of this identical case, oak or Mahogany, without the banner decal, including my pictured oak example.
I'm not real knowledgeable with standards so please enlighten me with which decal is correct. And if you have a pic of this case with a script, please show me.
Standard case decal question. Script or Banner?

Looks like you have a Standard Model D. It should have the script decal.

I agree with you on the mechanism. But I believe this is a B case and I'm going to put a B mechanism back into it. Just trying to work with what is correct for the case.

Here is a collector's original, in what certainly appears to be the same case:

Script is good with the B too. Either one will work. Banner was early script came out in 1906.

Thanks for that. It confirms some great info I've already received. On this small machine, I prefer the script.

For historical accuracy, a banner decal should be used on numbers below around 216,000 and a script decal from around 219,000.

Thank you George. I wondered if there was a serial # break. Much appreciated.
