Post by oceanlinerfanatic »

Hi, i am looking for a printable stroboscope for a cylinder player at 160 Rpm. This website is not working well for me so I cannot search it up so apologies if someone already has asked this in the past.

I'd recommend getting an inexpensive digital tachometer from Amazon (this one is $15 https://www.amazon.com/Tachometer-Non-C ... r=8-4&th=1). It will read RPM by bouncing a laser from a bit of the supplied reflective tape that you can either stick to part of the machine or to a junk, say moldy, cylinder to fit to the mandrel for a reading. It can also read RPM of a disk machine the same way; I have a bit of tape stuck to the blank side of a cracked John McCormack Red Seal for that purpose.

I have successfully used a small piece of paper inserted under the end of the cylinder and sticking out a small amount and a timepiece. Let the paper strike your hand and count revs per a convenient amount of time. Then multiply to get revs per minute.

Low cost...

Marc

Did you find what you were looking for? If any of the above was helpful, a simple acknowledgement would be appropriate. ;) Otherwise, we'll keep trying.
