It is indeed an MP22a, with the crescent shaped tonearm, weight adjuster and unusual Art Deco fretwork.
The owner, who is a good friend of mine, is an occasional contributor to this forum as "Old Country Chemist".
I helped him collect the machine when he purchased it, and it inspired me to acquire my own Chromogram.

Is the tonearm tapered or straight bore? Looks straight.
