When did Emile Berliner's Gramophone go on sale in the US?

In early January 1891, the Central Stores, High Holborn, London, were the first to offer gramophones in England. Parkins and Gotto, 54, Oxford-street, London followed at a later date. Perhaps from May 1891(?).

The machines were manufactured under Emile Berliner's license by the Grammophon-Fabrik Kämmer, Reinhardt & Co. in Waltershausen, Thuringia region, Duchy of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha.

It is unknown if the announced $5 gramophone "for the use of children“ was already on sale in early 1896, and how it looked like. But two years later, in an advertisement by the National Gramophone Company dated December 19, 1897, the Vo-co-phone, the Improved Gram-o-phone, suddenly appeared at a price between $5 and $25.
