Wanted: Victor P governor

Post by cheryla »

UPS totally destroyed a well packed box containing a Victor P motor! The governor is broken off… This is an early Victor P so if anyone has parts, please let me know.

Brett,

Does your P use the Royal motor? If so, finding a junk motor for an R would be easier than finding one for a P.

Brett/Cheryl,

Your P motor looks like basically the same as that of the Royal (see pictures below). I'll bet the governor is the same.

I've had some minor difficulty with parts interchangeability with Royal motors - specifically the speed control shafts. Hopefully that's the only possible problem with using a Royal motor.

That said, you have nothing to lose by de-greasing both parts of the broken governor casting and trying JB Weld. If you do, leave extrusions along the separation to add strength.

Either way, good luck!

Do you need both the cast iron support and governor or just the cast iron support ?
It looks like your governor is still intact.

So far the governor looks OK so I just need the cast iron support.

I have this one from a early Victor E. I believe it is the same as the one you need.
If interested, $40 shipped to you
