Wanted: center coil and lower coil for a 1915 Electrola XVIII

Post by Victor guy1 »

Recently acquired an electrola and the center coil and lower coil aren't receiving any power, but the upper coil is. I believe these two coils are shot. Does anyone have one?

Thank you,
Josh

Josh,

Congratulations on scoring the $300 XVIII Electrola in Virginia Beach! It is a lovely machine!
This service bulletin will help you put your machine back in order. If the resistors check bad modern replacements are readily available.

Thank you so very much for this schematic! Unfortunately the 2 resistors have checked bad, do you know where I can find them?

Thank you, Josh

Many times I have been able to clean the connection between the nichrome wire and the brass terminals. Cleaning the wire and adding more solder has restored the electrical connection.

Unfortunately, I have cleaned all the contacts and it still isn't getting any power. I'm 99% sure they have failed because the top coil is perfectly fine and is getting the correct amount of ohms.
