The Fireside Model A is indeed a 2- and 4-minute machine. The Fireside Model B is 4-minute only (equipped with a Diamond B Reproducer).

I'd recommend either a Fireside Model A or an operational Standard/Home Model D as being good performers, versatile, and relatively inexpensive.

You might discover you seldom play two-minute records. They are rarer and more fragile. And yet there are many excellent two-minute Homes, Standards, even Triumphs that sell pretty cheap because they cannot play four-minute records. So you could have a dedicated time capsule for your two-minute cylinders, and a robust Amberola for blue amberols (which still seem to exist in the millions). Amberolas are also cheap, well built, with great sound.

I could maybe, but I don't have the room for one more machine, my Amberola and Grafonola already take up enough room as it is.

I'll look for a Fireside A, but if I see another combo machine, such as a graphophone with 2/4 minute or another Edison machine with 2/4 minute playback, I'll buy it.
