I just noticed this on ebay.

I haven't seen an HMV number 4 sound-box with 'Importe D'Angleterre' 'on it' before.
Probably quite common in Europe ........................ ?
A bit different ? (No. 4 Sound-box).

I’ve seen this before on a ‘La Voix De Son Maitre’ 101 portable. This is probably where it comes from.

I have the same inscription on the No.16 soundbox fitted to my French 102.
I am still looking for the Australian, Italian and Spanish 102's to complete my collection. I did not believe the rumours of an Australian 102 until pictures of one appeared on this forum. Understandably the owner did not want to sell.

There most definitely is an Australian 102 with "Sydney" displayed under the decal of Nipper in the lid. There was a really fine example on Ebay a few years ago. I kept looking at for ages, asked questions, requested additional photos etc, but I let it go in the end because a) it was just another black 102 ultimately and b) although the outer case was near mint condition the inside displayed marks consistent with heavy use. I couldn't reconcile the two without thinking someone had either swapped the innards from a lesser example or perhaps the outer case had been professionally recovered years ago.epigramophone wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 2:30 pm I have the same inscription on the No.16 soundbox fitted to my French 102.
