IIRC they were produced by Crystalate in England. The band will be Jay Wilbur's. There can be Al Bowlly on them. 9 out of 10 are totally non intereresting, but the tenth can be quite nice. Usually stock arrangements of current hits.To avoid costs the usually have only one interesting side (for which a fee needed to be payed) and one with music from the public domain. There are a handful, but only a handful that have outtakes of veru hot American jazz. These are incredibly rare and very much sought after. They were never issued on other labels, and other than that Bix hoax that was also published here op April's fools day, they ARE real. I've seen some and listened to them. Victory records are quite rare in themselves and were pressed in hundreds, rather than thousands. Recorded for a shoestring budget, pressed on third quality material and sold in department stores during the depression era for something like 6 old pence. You should not play them on your acoustic machine. They wear out like cardboard shoes on hot gravel.

Thanks guys,
That is a very interesting story of the Victory record. I see there is mention of a record called Imperial Junior also. I have a 7" of that as well. It seems that they are a little earlier than the Victory records.
