edison class-m ? upper works

Post by herrickpickups »

1st image, a rebuilt upper works of an unknown Edison phonograph that was re-finished & rebuilt & Originally I thought it was a spring motor type, Someone has since told me it's a model A HOME machine but I cannot find a HOME A that has a carriage guide rod of ⅝" ? .but maybe there was one ? I thought someone here would know for sure . 2nd image is taken from the net of a complete class-m. To me the castings look very similar. mine has a ⅝" carriage tube guide rod at the rear like a triumph machine as well as grub screws in the 2 cast protrusions next to the pulley wheel like the class-m has in the 2nd attached image. I wondered if anyone on this forum has a class-m that i could compare the size of my machine with, or any details only characteristic of the class-m top works casting please ? thanks for any light that can be shead on this
