Hi everybody. When I play my amberola 30 (not always) there’s a clunking noise coming from inside the machine. It’s quieter than the playing but it def. Interrupts listening. You can hear it on some of the records on my site, I’ll link one here.

You have dried grease in the spring barrel. The spring motor needs a bit of service.

Re: Amberola 30 clunking?
I played the provided audio file through twice and I cannot hear any chugging or clunking at all from the motor during play of the Marching Through Georgia cylinder. If it's present during play I sure didn't hear it. Either way, it can't hurt to pull the main spring out, clean it along with the barrel, re-install. lube and you should be good.

Check the tension on the flyball governor shaft. It's set with an adjustable screw.
Also, make sure you have good lubrication on the rotating parts.
