Edison Diamond Disc Info Needed Please!

Post by phononut »

Hello
I always love going to auctions. As I scanned the web I came up with an auction that had and Edison Diamond Disc Phonograph. I took a look at the pictures. I know there are table model Edison dds but this looks like it was cut off a cabinet model. It was also painted barn red. It includes the reproducer and the spring winds. My questions are how much should I bid on it ,and, is it a table model or cut off a cabinet model? I also see all the obvious flaws but these types of machines are my favorite! Any info would be very appreciated.--Please PM me! :D

Thanks
Brad

looks like a chopped C-150. if you don't need any of the parts, I'd say just pass on it - it appears pretty far gone.

I think Brain nailed it. You can do better - and you'll have something that eventually someone else will want! Edison Disc Phonographs are not hard to find, so hold out for a good one.

My thoughts agree with previous posts...pass on it. There are better machines out there.

Looks like an amputated A100 to me.
I'd probably only buy this for the 78 adaptor, provided the adaptor was in restorable condition, but I wouldn't pay much.

The plumbing snake on the left side of the pic is more valuable!

I would only get this if the motor works and it's priced $10.00 or less
