Hi all,
Having gotten involved in this hobby about 4 years ago I am a relative newcomer to it. I recently bought a collection of the Victrola and 78 journal from one of our members and was amazed at how much information that I gathered from this short lived publication. I have a couple of other of Tom's fine books but I just got a lot out of these magazines.
I have seen the Hobbies magazine as well as the Amberola Journal mentioned many times but have never found copies of either-including watching ebay.
Does anyone know if they have been archived-or does anyone have any of these items for sale or other information about them?
Thanks Abe

You can still get a few issues of the "Victrola and 78 Journal" here http://www.gracyk.com/journals.shtml, also some information about other publications. Most are unfortunately defunct, except for the member magazines of the different Phonograph Societies. I've also seen some old issues on eBay over time, but mostly for astronomic prices.

I had bought all the copies of his journal- and really don't have to have originals of the others (though it would be nice) I just want to get my hands on the info!
Thanks

Re: Hobbies and The New Amberola Journal
Hi Abe:
I've seen some issues of Hobbies magazine surface on eBay from time to time.
"The New Amberola Graphic" has not been published for years. It just ceased publication one day, and no information was ever provided about what was going on. I had paid for a year's subscription renewal and only received one issue and then ... nothing.
I think the publisher, Martin F Bryan, is still among the quick. The last address I had for him appears on this page -- http://www.capsnews.org/journals.htm
You might want to try to get in touch with him and see if he'd be willing to sell you copies of whatever he has in his archive.
