Woobly Crank Handle

Post by deghi »

I recently obtained a Victor VV-VI and have rebuilt the reproducer and replaced a few missing parts, but there is still one issue. When the crank is wound, it wobbles a bit of center causing stress on the escutcheon and loosening the screws. I removed the motor board and cranked the motor while watching the mechanism, the gear that the crank screws into is slightly loose and if the handle is pulled up or down, the gear rocks slightly. Is this a simple fix? Any advice is appreciated! :D

I have not found a solution to this so I embrace it. I remove one screw and leave the other loose and let the escuthion float.
