Can anyone help me?

Post by Butleran »

I need some help!! Can anyone identify the song that is playing on the back ground of this website? http://www.thedeadballera.com/27yankees.html I was reading about the 1927 Yankees, and I stumbled across this. I know I have heard this tune before (Maybe on Eight men out?) and would like to get the record. But I need to know the title first!! I know there are a lot of very smart people here, and somebody knows the answer!! Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks and have a nice weekend!

It was quite probably a purpose made recording. It is a simple riff, that is repeated in major and minor keys, played by a studio band imho. I highly doubt whether it was ever issued on record. It is certainly no existing major hit.

A quick look at that website's source code reveals the file ClubhouseStomp.mp3, which - after a quick google - leads to the "Clubhouse Stomp" as part of the soundtrack from the documentary "Baseball" by Ken Burns. This particular song is the very same take.

However, I could not find any reference to an older original source. Therefore, it might not be an old composition at all.

You can buy the song for 99ct at amazon here: http://goo.gl/LXEwr

or purchase the whole CD album used for less than five bucks: http://goo.gl/3hsna
