Post by dennis »

Someone called a local DJ "on air" and asked him to play "The Wreck of the Ella Fitzgerald"!

It could be the song, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" that was popular in 1976. The song was about a freighter that sank in a storm in 1975 on Lake Superior.

Undoubtedly it's the Gordon Lightfoot song that the caller was referring to.

But since these are phonograph and 78 related panels, maybe it's be more appropriate to talk about the Wreck Of the Old 97 or something.

Would've been poetic justice if the DJ put on a trashed copy of "A -Tisket, A -Tasket"....... :P
