Re: Edison Model O Reproducer Instructions
That could be I haven't done anything to the reproducer for 20 yrs, so..... likely time for an overhaul.

Re: Edison Model O Reproducer Instructions
Ok so I am going to learn something new... My Triumph has a music master horn and horizontal carriage. What do I do and need to set up to play with a diamond B-yah I know old stuff to you guys, but I am still in the learning stages and since I am going to CAPS maybe I can get what I need. Pictures if someone can post them would be great. Oh yeah and if I need to do a conversation of some kind maybe some guidance in that area as well. Well if you don't ask...
Thx Abe

Not to sound like a smart--s, but just substitute the diamond B for the O, with the hinge facing front, it will only fit one way. If it does not seem to want to fit, which does happen, it means the Diamond B pot metal body has swollen slightly. It now is either a matter of carefully filing down the reproducer body so it fits in, or finding a non-swollen reproducer.

Abe, the diamond B, unless it's swelled, should drop right in. You don't mention that you have a crane, and the required suspention for the horn. Of course, you'd need that if you don't have it too.need4art wrote:Ok so I am going to learn something new... My Triumph has a music master horn and horizontal carriage. Re: Edison Model O Reproducer Instructions
Hi All,
I have the crane and the unit is up and running-so does a diamond disc b reproducer look the same as a C and H or does what I am looking for look the reproducer in my Amberola 50. I have a reducer ring that I use to put in my H which I thought would be better for the 4 min wax but now I understand that I should just stick to the O correct? If i am correct I will be looking for a B reproducer and use my reducer ring-or is the b type the right size for the current holder of my O.
Questions , Questions-thx Abe

Abe:
The diamond B can be found on an Amberola X (I use the one from my DX), or some of the other earlier amberolas that use fireside type motors. The reproducers from the 50 or 30 will not work. No need for any rings etc. it will fit in the horizontal opening. Should be an available item at CAPS.

Re: Edison Model O Reproducer Instructions
Hi All,
Thx for the help-Jim, George-now I've got it-I thought I was on the right track but the pics in my Frow book were not that clear- or is it my eyes. I wonder if anyone that is going to CAPS has one for sale. I have no experience with croakin frog and is this the real price range for a B or is it -if I get it GREAT! (for the seller) price range.

Abe, although I think croakingfrog is high on all of his stuff, he does allow returns if you are not satisfied. I have had good dealings with him several times. I have paid anywhere from $100 to $200 for Diamond B reproducers. The main thing is to find a reproducer with a good diamond. I check nearly any reproducer or stylus I buy with a 50x stereo microscope.need4art wrote:Hi All,

I'd suggest that unless you buy from someone who will allow you to return if not satisfied, just assume that the stylus is shot and bear in mind that you'll need to pay another $100 plus for new stylus and gaskets or a bit more if you ask someone to do the rebuild for you. Unless you know what you are doing, have someone do it for you. Steve Medved does great work. There are others too. Click on the link to hear what a well restored diamond B can do. http://youtu.be/mN3-NHRfJC0VintageTechnologies wrote:Abe, although I think croakingfrog is high on all of his stuff, he does allow returns if you are not satisfied.
