Aeolian Vocalion Style R - Help needed !

Post by Kiwi »

Aeolian – Vocalion style R
Help needed - what is missing.

I had this machine transported to me and told the previous owner to remove the reproducer are and pack it up separately.
Is there a pin missing than fits into the Reproducer arm and then maybe a spring that connects the arm onto the base spindle (as in the picture where the screw driver shows the spindle is also spring loaded) I thought that this must be for the give and take of the movable reproducer arm.
Thanks
Kiwi

the screwdriver is pointing at the volume control. if you move the arrow-shaped dial to the left of the turntable, what you're pointing the screwdriver at should also move... the ones I've seen in the past had a small wooden or fabric ball attached to the tip which, when moved up into the tonearm base, softened the volume a bit.

The threaded holes at the base of the tonearm are for the the automatic shut-off mechanism.

Looks like you are missing both the volume ball and part of the shut off mechanism.

No worries, if the machine works it will play without these items.
