What's the best way to remove the 4 corner "nails" on the ID tag so it can be removed from the bedplate?
THANKS- Steve

If you examine the underside, you'll find 4 tiny holes where the brads are tapped in. Use a tiny punch, or a small finishing nail ground flat on the tip, and carefully tap the brads out.

Thanks George- They looked like they had a slight flare on the underside and I didn't want to whack them only to find out that was the wrong thing to do. The bedplate on this one needs re-plating so I wanted to get the tag off first.

If the brads protrude beyond the undersurface of the bedplate, you'll need to shear them off with a chisel of other appropriate cutting tool. I forgot about encountering these - - which have indeed been peened so as not to be removable.
